The many ways to tell a story

Published on Tuesday 22nd January 2013 by DJ Kirkby

As part of my time as Writer in Residence for Portsmouth Libraries two WeLL What’s Your Story? anthologies were produced and are now with the publishers.  These anthologies are filled with stories written by residents – the youngest was 4 and the oldest was 90.  The anthologies also include a showcase of wider reaching collaborative work around my short story The Box of Broken Things (also chapter 1 of Realand) in order to demonstrate the many different ways to tell the same story. This illustration by Carol Burns is just one of the pieces that has been produced for inclusion in the collaborative work section. The two anthologies plus a copy of Realand will be given as an end of residency bundle to every school and public library in Portsmouth this Spring.
