M is for My Mini Midwife

Published on Monday 15th April 2013 by DJ Kirkby

I wrote My Mini Midwife with the intent of making it a pocket sized companion for pregnancy which is why it is currently still only available in e-book format.  My aim was to provide clear answers to confusing questions, and for these answers to be available whenever they were needed.

It took me a long time to get used to the concept of          e-books but I am now beginning to see some of the potential they offer. So far the reviews are telling me I got the content right in My Mini Midwife, and I am considering writing more books in this format.

What are your thoughts on e-books in relation to providing guidance / self help?  Do you like them in e-book format or do you prefer all your books to be in paperback / hardback?

  • Congratulations on the e-book success. As for knowing anything about e-books, or writing books in general, you’ve got me. Journalists, as a rule, don’t write books — thought a few do.

All I can do is wish you well.

  • I think ebooks are great for self help books. But then, I’m not into paperbook/hardcover at all much these days! The only point where I think they’re still useful is if there are lots of images, or you need to flick back and forth a lot. Though with the contents feature in ebooks, this can sometimes be easier too!
