“Doing” a Doctorate – week 14
My EdD cohort is scheduled for a virtual residential today which I am very much looking forward to as I get to meet up with my classmates from all over the world. Modern technology is a wonderful thing. I ran the Coastal half Marathon on Sunday and it was enjoyable enough that I paid for entry into the same race for February 2019. The rest of this year is made up of smaller distances on the whole except for the Coastal Marathon in Dec. Many people think I’m bonkers to be running at my age with such a crumbly body but running is the best way I know to stay ahead of the stress and anxiety that seem to follow me round like needy monsters. Speaking of stress and anxiety, today is eye surgeon appointment day to get the dates for my eye surgeries *the horror* I’m ridiculously apprehensive and this is only the consultation! Imagine what I’ll be like when I have to let the surgeon put a scalpel to my eye(s) WHILE I AM FULLY CONSCIOUS!

Publishable doctorate words written – No new ones this week
Doctorate assignment words written 1st essay submitted on Jan 19th – hoping for feedback to arrive today.
Cups of tea drunk – eleventymillion because, tea.
Miles run – 13.3 only because my ITB is still irritable. So I ran the half marathon and have been resting all week since. Will go for a gentle parkrun tomorrow.

Crafting done – none, because eyesight is rubbish now

- Allow myself to get distracted by all things shiny and appreciate that for the future creativity and benefit it may add to my doctorate
