What’s happening?

Published on Friday 10th September 2010 by DJ Kirkby

This was my first week back at work after three weeks hols, and the less said about that the better. N3S on the other hand has coped very well with his first week back at school. However, now that he has gone for three days I think he’d quite like another six weeks off.  Wouldn’t we all?  Ahem…

I have decided that there is nowhere near enough time to be a good mum, be a good wife, work full time at two demanding jobs (are there any other kind?), visit all the blogs I follow, market my novel, and work on my next novel. If anyone has a solution then please let me know.

Failing that, please come show some support at one of my virtual tours (free travel), real life book launch parties (bubbly and cake) and / or signing events (I promise to use my best handwriting).  You can find details here.  I’d love to meet you.  Please ignore me if I dribble and gibber a bit, won’t you?

The winner of this week’s Wednesday caption competition is Clay: “This is nothing, you should see my arse!” because I thought his caption perfectly suited the man’s cheeky grin. Honourable mention goes to Trousers: “Joe’s plan to smuggle beer through customs was foolproof.”

There is a ‘Pick me’ competition underway for a copy of From Zaftig to Aspie and Without Alice (plus a rather nice review of each book) over here. Details of other competitions can be found by following this link.  Good luck everyone!

Now, tell me…what have you been up to?

  • Yay! I think this is my third time. I know I won for "The years were unkind to Madonna", and I forget what the other one was for.

Check out the URL I just sent, as the last entry for the recent pic. Too bad it isn't a link, and I don't think you can just cut and paste, with this set-up. Worth the trouble though!

  • Congratulations to the winners.

I don't know how you're managing to fit everything in and wish I could come to your book launch, but will have to wait to hear all about it.

  • Oh my gosh I think I can just stay busy reading what YOU'RE doing! Me, I'm planning my son's bar mitzvah, working, taking a break from my masters & celebrating the Jewish holidays. That's about enough for me!

  • Hi Clay
I watched it but I don;t know the song so it was all just a bit odd instead of the parody it was supposed to be.

    Hi Debs
I'll def be blogging about it, with as many photos as possible for you to look at.

    Hi Al
Yes it's a bit silly kind of busy at the moment but there are lements of it that I absolutely love and would like to spend more time on. Sadly, writing doesn't pay my bills, yet.

    Hi Helen
Oh how lovely, I wish I could indulge in things like that. Do you know, I've never been on one 🙁
Hope you have a great time! I'll be over to your blog to read about it for sure.

    Hi Gran
    I don't 🙁

    Hi Clarissa
Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Perhaps someday we'll find a solution.

    Hi Old Kitty
Yes Clay has a great sense of houmour which helps to dispell yet another myth about autism!

    Hi Jill
You're taking a break from your Masters? What kind of a break? Must get over to your blog and find out what I missed. Your blog posts always make me giggle too, I'd love to meet you in RL.

    Hi Megan
I know you can empathise, and thank you. Oh, and ditto! 🙂

    Hi Nitebyrd
Tired…yes, that's me too :)So tired I'm not even getting up early and writing at the moment like I used to. Must get back into that routine or I'll never get my next novel written.

  • I don't know why you're making such a fuss. Honestly, some people. Talk about making a mountain out of molehill. It's really very simple. All you have to do with the time / demand crunch is take one very easy step….
    …..
    ……
    clone yourself. : )

  • Hi Lane,
Thank you, if you find a way to make 24 hours in 48 I'd very much appreciate it if you'd share the secret.

    Hi Maddy
You do make me laugh! You know very well that if I did manage to clone myself then I'd be arguing with myself over which one of us was going to have to do all the borning things 🙂

  • @ DJ – I guess you're not very familiar with Youtube. If you go to youtube.com, you can type in "California Gurls" (sic), and see the original. It was the big "summer song" of 2010. Very interesting video. Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg.

  • LOL 😀 Congrats to winners! And speaking of winners, I'll be posting an award for you over on my blog this morning. Have a great day!

  • Thanks for stopping by my blog! I love new visitors. I really enjoyed reading yours and became a follower. Sorry I missed your contest. I love that kind of stuff! Look forward to reading more!
