“Doing” a Doctorate – weeks 43 and 44
I’ve had some complications with my recovery from eye surgery so I have sort of lost track of where I am at with these posts. I think I’ve just finished week 44.
Life’s a bit tricky at the moment with trying to fit in work and doctorate studies around ongoing eye surgeries (and trying to have a life outside these things) but I’m just about managing to do it all.

Publishable doctorate words written –Virtual health education: scaling practice to transform student learning article has been made available online by Nurse Education Today – click here for more info. Future Technologies Conference 2018 article NoObesity Apps – from approach to finished app has been accepted for publication. Poster about the CILVRS project pilot VRLE has been accepted for the Wessex CSIP Safety, Quality & Improvement Conference 2018 and awarded highly commended status. Working on draft of second CILVRS article.
Doctorate assignment words written – assignment 3 is as done as it’s going to get. Now time to get working on assignment 4.
Cups of tea drunk – Lost count, tea is so perfect, more tea please.
Miles run – Zero (eye surgeon’s orders) walked 5k (slowly) instead. Fair to say that marathon training isn’t going as well as it should, haha.

Cakes baked – chocolate fudge oreo cupcakes, baked strawberry donuts, chocolate plum cookies, sticky fruit and nut loaf, sour batter apricot cake, brack (see photos at end of post).
Crafting done- Knitting on pause during this hot weather

Plan for next week:
- Brace for next eye op to try and resolve post surgery complication on 18th Oct.
- Wait for my eye to full heal and vision to settle
- Wait for husband’s referral date to new specialist to find out extent of damage caused by illness number two (he’s received a letter informing him there are currently NO appointments!)
- Begin first draft of assignment 4
