“Doing” a Doctorate – week 22
Bit late posting this today, but I’ve been busy baking for an event tomorrow. Meanwhile, in doctorate land I’ve realised that I need to ensure my research question(s) investigate whether my VRLE is leading to improvements in patient care and safety. So, I’ve made those changes now, and will use this with the research cohorts from now on. I’ve been working hard on my second assignment but am really struggling with it. Some days I’ve put in six hors work and wrote 700 words, some days I’ve put in six hours work and wrote 300 words, some days six hours and only wrote 100 words. Seriously. I’m over halfway done with my first draft now but it’s felt pretty soul destroying so far. I’m trying to redress the balance by upping the amount I’m baking to calm my mind and let it mull over the zillions of words I’ve read whilst trying to write this assignment in the hopes that the rest of the assignment fits together….which seems a bit like mind alphagetti, but if it works then that’s all that matters.

- Bake more
- Read more for fun
- Allow myself to get distracted by all things shiny and appreciate that for the future creativity and benefit it may add to my doctorate
